Woofer Tweeter Crossover

When using speakers, people must have faced quite a lot of problems due to failure of the speaker to produce smooth sound quality continuously. It is because speaker detects only identical frequency and does not give response to all frequency.  Particular range of low frequencies is detected by the speaker and it ignores high frequencies. Woofer or tweeter is introduced as a solution to this issue. However, if the signal from amplifier is directly fed to woofer or tweeter, then it may not produce the actual sound. And, a crossover circuit is developed to maintain the ratio of sound quality. Thus, we came here with the simple project called woofer tweeter crossover circuit.

Circuit Description of Woofer Tweeter Crossover:-

As described earlier, the circuit of ‘Woofer tweeter crossover’ is much simpler to understand and built. It utilizes few electronics active and passive components .i.e. two diode and two capacitors with a variable resistor. Signal from amplifier is directly given to woofer since woofer only allows low frequency by rejecting high frequency. High frequency from amplifier is given to tweeter through preset VR1 and capacitor C1 and C2. Preset VR1 is used to adjust the ratio of sound given to woofer and tweeter from amplifier.
